About Us

ST. MARK’S VISION STATEMENT

We are the body of Christ called in the prophetic tradition to

“do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.”

To Do Justice

A loving and compassionate community that seeks to witness to Christ’s message of peace and reconciliation by offering solidarity and support to all those whom the world has forgotten, rejected, or hurt, by advocating for those who have no voice, by responding to the cries of those who suffer with direct action, by working for change that furthers the realization of God’s reign of Shalom, and moving out of our comfort zones to encounter the Living Christ in the world.

To Love Kindness

A caring inclusive community that seeks to follow the loving example of Jesus Christ by celebrating our diversity, offering hospitality, fellowship, and unconditional welcome to everyone, providing care and support to each other in the passages and challenges of life, acting with mutual forbearance and respectfulness toward those with diverse views and positions, and cherishing, accepting, and forgiving each other as God has us.

To Walk Humbly with God

A faithful and joyful community that seeks to honor the Divine by keeping the Sabbath a day of rest and renewal, worshiping and singing praises to the glory of God, celebrating open communion, carrying out individually and corporately the spiritual practices of our faith, exercising faithful stewardship of all that God has given us, prayerfully discerning God’s call for us in this place and time, and providing opportunities for people to explore and grow in their faith.
