Music Opportunities for Adults

Members of the congregation can participate in a variety of musical groups described below.

Choir

Celtic Choir.

September through May, this adult volunteer group sings at the 11:00 service, supporting congregational singing and presenting special music. It rehearses Thursdays 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m. before the service.

It sings a broad repertoire of music, from Medieval and Renaissance to Baroque, Romantic and Modern, from Folk and Gospel to African and Rock. The Celtic Choir always welcomes new members. David Horr is the Temporary Organist. Michael Scionti is the Temporary Music Director

 

 

Church_Ladies

 

Church Ladies.

This volunteer group of church women sings four to five times a year at the late service.  It rehearses for an hour each of the three Saturdays before a performance. The group is always seeking new members.

Michael Scionti is the Director.






Mark’s Men.
This Gospel quartet provides lively music and tight harmonies at occasional services, congregational gatherings, and other community events.




Bell Choir.

This intergenerational group of adults and middle and high school students welcomes ringers of all levels – novice to seasoned – for weekly rehearsals (Fridays 4:30-5:30, September to April), ringing at the 11:00 service once every other month (September to April), and playing at other community events. St. Mark’s Summer Singers
.  This group provides summer singing opportunities for all, including those unable to sing in other ensembles during the September to May season.   Every year on the Sunday nearest July 4th, it sings Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord.   It sings special music occasionally other Sundays during the summer.
