Children’s and Youth ministries at St Marks is a church-wide commitment to see our children and youth grow in their faith and learn what it means to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.” Children and youth are invited to participate in all aspects of St Mark’s faith community – Christian education, worship, music, stewardship and fellowship.

Christian Education

Church school classes are offered for children and youth, preschool through high school. The Preschool, Intermediary (3rd-5th grades) and Middle School classes use the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum. This curriculum moves through the seasons of the church, guided by the lectionary to promote biblical understanding and faith formation. In our primary (K-2nd) class, the sacred stories of the bible are revealed through Godly Play, a Montessori inspired curriculum. High School meets each Sunday for a discussion and reflection in a café setting.

Children are welcome to worship at both the Service for the 8^th day at 8:30 and Traditional Service at 11:00. Each Sunday during the Traditional Service there is a children’s moment, following which elementary and interested middle school children are invited to join Dr. John for music.

YOUTH Ministry

Overview

The Youth Ministry Program offers a variety of events and experiences for both Middle and High School youth by celebrating through fellowship and fun with a Christian message. This program is directed by the “Youth Core Team.” For more information, contact the church office, 325-1001.

General Information

YOUTH GROUPS — The Youth, Middle school through Sr. High, meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 PM for activities, recreation, and informal discussions, except during the summer months.

Youth Room Painting Project

SERVICE AND EVENTS —Mission projects occur each year and have included sandwich making for Casa Maria, Salvation Army, Hefer Project, Imuris-Mexico Orphanage, Pride Picnic, Project Hospitality, San Pedro Riparian Project, Souper Bowl Sunday, Water Runs & Medical Aid for Migrants, and many more throughout the year.

RETREATS AND CAMPS — Several retreats and camps including Mission trips, Montlure Camp, and the Winter Retreat, to name a few.
